All Finley Fox wants to do is play with his friends, but covered in mud he is unable to do so. With the germ monster lurking in the back, Finley has to make a decision; does he continue to jump in muddy puddles or will he get clean and have fun! With the help of the wise old owl, Finley learns that washing and cleaning is not all that bad, and with that he is able to play with his friends until the sun goes down, and the germ monster becomes no more.

Landscape Work
“Fuzzy Feelings” is based on the exploration of emotion through colour, texture, shape and narrative within a neurodiverse profile. The work is rooted in personal experience and explores themes of creative expression, self-understanding and identity. The key focus of the work is to be used as a tool in the understanding of emotional differences and the validation of feelings for young children, as well as learning how to respond to the world around them. Neurodiversity is not often portrayed in a positive manner both in society and in literature, this project aims to challenge that narrative and showcase a different side of neurodiversity.
Within each work, the illustrations are used to reflect the emotions that the characters are experiencing rather than being explicitly stated. This creates somewhat of a challenge or game in which the reader can decipher the emotion through visual clues within the shape, colour and texture, as well as the context of the images. In doing so this helps emotional and intellectual development and understanding in an artistic and literary sense, it brings forth the idea that what can be seen is what is felt.
